大荒东北隅中，有山名曰凶犁土丘。应龙处南极，杀蚩尤与夸父，不得复上，故下数旱。

应龙为有翼之龙，曾助黄帝斩杀蚩尤与夸父，力竭不能复升于天，故所居之地常苦干旱；亦传其以尾画地成江河。
The winged dragon who slew Chiyou and Kuafu for the Yellow Emperor. Spent, it could not return to heaven, and the land below it suffers drought; some say its tail carved the rivers.
